…is a Waldorf inspired preschool that provides a warm, safe and loving home environment for each child to be present at play and evolve at their own pace.
Colibri Playgarden is a 2,3- and 4-day early childhood program for children 2 to 5 years including Kindergarten.

A home-like space
Feeling safe, warm and loved- feeling at home- gives the young children the basis for learning and evolving while being nurtured through song, story, rhythm and play.
Through loving communication, I am modeling and teaching the children to use their words, to express their feelings and to listen to each other.
Daily Rhythm
Young children feel best being held by daily rhythms. The morning routine leads them, with songs for transitions, from activity to activity, flowing in the same way each day. The children know what to expect. Predictability provides comfort and security and eliminates the need for much discipline.
Our daily schedule is as follows and is adjusted seasonally:
- 8:30 - 8:45 drop off; free inside play, welcome activity
- 9:30 pick up toys
- 9:45 circle time; songs, movement and story
- 10:00 setting table, snack followed by clean up (wash dishes), toileting and hand washing
- 10:20 free outside play with a selection of crafts or sensory play
- 11:50 clean up, change clothes, handwashing.
- 12:00 lunch, followed by clean up, toileting and hand washing
- 12:30 indoor/ outdoor free play
- 12:45 - 1:00pm dismissal
The Outside
We spent much time outside for the children to run, skip, swing, push and carry. I offer activities to experience and develop all senses.
A gardening experience
I invite the children to become part of our vegetable garden; to sow seeds, water and observe our plants grow, to harvest and eat out of our garden.

How do I enroll my child?

Which days are you closed?
Colibri Playgarden is open Tuesday through Friday. Please see my calendar page to see which days school is closed.
Does my child have to be toilet trained?
No, I am happy to assist the toilet training hand in hand with parents practicing at home.
Are you licensed by the State of California?
Yes, my license number is 493010559.
Where are you located?
In Rohnert Park, B-section.
What Covid-19 precautions are you taking?
All parents sign a participation agreement prior to first day of school, which includes home symptom checks, and keeping sick children home for 48 hours from onset of new symptoms and testing for covid before returning to school.
